Competition & Performing Line Updates!

Hello parents,

Miss Kaylee's Leadership nights - FIRST ONE THIS SUNDAY!!!Join us for a relaxing, informative night. A different topic will be presented each time. Topics range from money management, nutrition, public speaking, and more! Mark your calendars- 9/30, 10/14, 11/11, 1/27, 4/14. 8:00-9:00PM at the studio.

Microwave? - I mistakingly asked if anyone has an extra dorm sized refrigerator they were looking to donate. We actually are looking for a microwave! If you have one you want to get rid of, let me know.

Innovate Dance Event - 2/1-3 - Innovate is a wonderful weekend of dance that our Performing Line Angels and Lightning, in addition to all of our competition teams (with the exception of Sunbeams) will be participating in with their groups on either Saturday, 2/2 or Sunday, 2/3. Friday night 2/1 is an optional solo/duet/trio night that your dancer may participate in. They will have the opportunity to perform their piece for evaluation by 2 adjudicators, and one of the adjudicators will meet them backstage to give them face to face feedback about their dance. They will also get to take 2 fun master classes! Cost is $75 and this will be billed in January. We have limited space for this event. Sign up HERE if you are interested. 10 spots left!!

Musical Theater class/Acro- In addition to our Acro BOGO deal ($20/month!), we are now offering a special to our competition and performing line students to join our Musical Theater and Acting class for $20/month! Learn acting skills, musical theater dances, and more! Email me if you are interested.

Middle School Goals Lunch - TBD, but we are looking at the first weekend in November (potentially).

Curtains on viewing windows - To ensure we have the full concentration of our students, we will only have the curtains open during the LAST WEEK of each month. 

Optional competitions -this year we will be offering 2 optional competitions for solos/duets/trios. Act 1 - 3/15-17 in Hopkins, and Eclipse - 4/12-14 at the Convention Center. Sign up HERE if you are interested.

Dress code clarification - Dress code clarification for Sundays. We will ALWAYS start Sunday practice with ballet for 75-90 minutes, so ballet attire is required. We will end with Production, so if dancers want to throw a tank top on they may during this part of the night.

Movie day - 10/6 at Lakes 5 - We will be celebrating our 2019 recital theme with a special Movie Day on 10/6 at 3PM! We will be showing "The Greatest Showman" at the Lakes 5 theater. Cost is $6/person, and families are welcome! Sign up info coming soon!

Routine Cleaning weekend- very important! Click here for schedule.

Routine cleaning weekend is a MANDATORY 3 hour weekend rehearsal on either Friday, 11/9  or Saturday, 11/10. Dancers will go through their 3 main routines (tap, jazz, lyrical) and teachers will review choreography and clean certain parts of the routines. We started doing this last year and we feel it really helped our dances look better come competition season.

Shoes for Hip Hop-If your dancer is taking hip hop, please wear clean gym shoes or combat boots for now until the teachers pick out shoes.

Lakefest 10/6-We were invited to perform in the gazebo at Lakefest on 10/6 between 11-11:45. Is anyone interested in performing their solo/duet from last year? Email me if interested.

Team Merchandise: Zina and Angela are putting together our team merchandise order. Please read below:

Hi all,

Attached is the link to the Google Form to order the 2018-2019 Competition, Performing Line and Comp Prep Team Apparel!!  We've got some new items available this year!!

A link to photos of the merchandise is also attached.  This order is ONLY for team apparel.  Regular studio merchandise order forms will be coming in the next 4-6 weeks. It is not mandatory for you to purchase team apparel, it is just a fun option for your dancer(s) to have something with their team name on it!  They ARE allowed to wear Team Apparel on stage for awards. 

There are no samples of the items, however, there are several families that own some of the clothing so we could arrange to have them bring it in for you to try on.  Just let me know what you're interested in.

Orders are due on Sunday, September 23rd by 8:00pm. NO EXCEPTIONS! It states in the order form as well, but just a reminder that if you have more than one child ordering, please fill out separate forms per child.
